Upper GI endoscopy can detect ulcers, abnormal growth, precancerous conditions, inflammation and hiatus hernia. it can be used to determine the cause of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, swallowing difficulties, acid reflux, unexplained eight loss, anemia and bleeding in upper GI tract.
Upper GI endoscopy can be used to remove stuck objects like foot, dentures, FB and treat condition like bleeding ulcer, varices. It can also be used to take biopsy from suspected area. Its also used for PEG procedure (for feeding)
